Words for Lily

About Words for Lily

Words for Lily is a simple "flash-card" activity for children from preschool through middle school.

Each word is fed from a list of words hosted on the Web for display on the website or on a mobile unit, such as a mobile phone or Internet tablet. The site allows you to create customized lists of words you provide, and the software will display each word randomly during the activity, with other activities to follow soon. The learner moves at his or her own pace.

How Words for Lily Got Started

Words for Lily was written by a programmer and rookie father of a five-year old daughter named Lily. Lily is learning to read in pre-school.

The program started out as an app for Google's Android platform -- a way for Lily to practice her sight words while we're together anyplace -- and the concept grew and grew.
